I am currently finishing my LAST semester at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which feels so crazy and so exciting. Over the last four years, I have had the opportunity to become involved in numerous activities with many of them being centered around ministry, service, and mentorship. In the fall of 2022, I was inspired to change my major to Global Studies largely due to my experiences with The Hope Venture. I will graduate in May with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies with a regional emphasis in Africa and the Middle East and themes in Human Rights and Global Resources and Environment. In August I will celebrate 3 years working at The Hope Venture and go full-time with them as their Student Coordinator working with partners and students in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, India, and Bangladesh! :)

Some of you may know, I have traveled to Kenya with The Hope Venture for the last 3 summers, which has provided so many great opportunities, friendships, and intimacy with Jesus. The Hope Venture is a non-profit organization with a mission to bring hope and dignity to the most disadvantaged people in the world through health and education projects.

I am so excited to announce that I will be returning to East Africa with The Hope Venture but this time with a twist! ;) I will be traveling from June 15th - August 12th. First I will travel to Turkana (Northern Kenya) with a team from North Pointe Community Church to host a camp with our sponsored students in this area. Then I will travel to Narok, Kenya to spend time with our partners and prepare for our camp in August. Next, our team will travel to Rwanda and Uganda to spend time with our partners and recipients of those projects. Lastly, I will head back to Kenya for our Nasha Camp! Whew, I think that's it! 

This will be my 4th time at camp and second year co-directing with one of my colleagues at The Hope Venture and 2 of our partners in Narok. I am so excited to travel again this summer, meet new partners, and see how God moves during this time. 

We have a few different purposes and goals for our trip. We will be encouraging and supporting our partners who have been keeping a ministry going throughout the years. For sponsored students, their main goal is to seek out kids who need to go to school (7th-12th grade) but do not have the finances to make this possible. In Narok, our team will be holding two camps for high school students who are sponsored by families through The Hope Venture. The camps will consist of Bible lessons, small group discussions, games, worship, opportunities to serve in the community, and tons of fun! The ultimate purpose is to give the students time to attend our camp, escape the hardships they face every day, and experience the love of our Savior Jesus Christ!
